A Love That Felt Like Home

Picture of A Love That Felt Like Home

Some love stories take time to unfold. Ours felt as though it had been written long before we ever met.

We were introduced through a mutual friend, in what seemed like such a simple moment at the time. But that quiet introduction would soon become the beginning of something life-changing. When we first met, everything felt calm and easy. We were simply getting to know each other, with no pressure, no expectations. And yet, beneath that gentle beginning, there was something undeniable. Before long, we found ourselves drawn to each other in a way neither of us could ignore.

From that moment on, being together felt natural. Effortless. Certain.

So often, we’ve looked at each other and wondered how we became lucky enough to find a love like this. We’ve even said, more than once, that sometimes it feels like we don’t quite deserve each other, and yet somehow, by grace, here we are. It reminds us of the lyric from The Sound of Music: “Somewhere in my youth or childhood, I must have done something good.”

Maybe part of what makes our bond so special is how deeply our stories connect. We both come from humble beginnings in Cameroon, where we learned early the value of hard work, perseverance, faith, and family. We did not grow up with much, but we were shaped by strong values and a determination to build something meaningful with our lives.

That shared foundation is one of the things that drew us to each other from the very beginning. We saw in one another a familiar strength, a quiet resilience, and a heart shaped by love for family and hope for the future. We have supported each other every step of the way, and in doing so, our bond has only grown deeper. We are so alike in the ways that matter most, and beautifully different in the ways that make us stronger together.

It didn’t take us long to realize that this was the kind of love we didn’t want to wait for. When you know, you know. And we knew we wanted forever.

So on February 13, we quietly tied the knot at the courthouse, just the two of us, beginning the rest of our lives together.

Now, we are filled with joy as we look forward to celebrating our love with all of you.

On July 11, 2026, we will exchange our vows in front of our family and friends at the beautiful Monona Terrace in Madison, Wisconsin. It will be a day made even more meaningful by sharing it with the people we love most.

This is only the beginning of our story, and we are so grateful to have you be part of it.
